Orange Oxide Zoa

Orange Oxide earns its name from the layered look: a bright orange base broken up by a darker purple ring and mouth, giving it more depth and contrast than a single-tone zoa. It’s a strong choice if you want a punch of colour that still reads as detailed up close rather than flat.

Like most zoas it’s a steady grower once settled, budding outward to form a mat over time — a reliable coral to build a colony from rather than a slow specialist piece.

Care basics

  • Lighting: Low to moderate. Colour holds up well across a fairly wide range, though very intense light can wash out the purple contrast over time.
  • Flow: Moderate to high. Keeps the polyps clear of detritus and supports steady growth.
  • Water chemistry: Stable calcium, alkalinity and magnesium matter more than any single “perfect” number.
  • Feeding: Not required, but occasional fine-particle feeding can boost growth and colour.
  • Handling: Contains palytoxin, as all zoanthids do. Never handle out of water, and wear gloves when fragging.

Supplied as 6+ zoas on a frag plug.
