Midnight Cotton Candy Torch
Midnight Cotton Candy stands out for its unusual palette — dark, almost black-purple stems running long and flowing, topped with soft, pastel-toned tips that give the coral a genuinely different look from the typical bright single-tone torch. It’s an easy one to build a torch garden around precisely because nothing else in the tank will look quite like it.
Torches are widely regarded as one of the most stunning LPS species for general display, and unusual colour combinations like this one are part of what keeps collectors coming back for more.
Care basics
- Lighting: Mid to high, though tolerates a wide range.
- Flow: Moderate and random. Avoid blasting it with direct heavy flow — this can damage the coral.
- Water chemistry: Stable calcium, alkalinity and magnesium matter more than chasing exact numbers.
- Feeding: Not required, but it will take larger meaty foods or powdered foods like Reef-Roids if offered.
- Placement: Torches carry a strong sting and, with stems this long, can reach further than expected once fully extended — give it real space from neighbouring corals.
