CB Nuclear Green Cyphastrea

CB Nuclear Green Cyphastrea lives up to its name with a genuinely vivid, almost glowing green covering the entire encrusted surface — small, densely packed nodular polyps that give the whole piece a textured, almost bubbly look under lighting. Cyphastrea is a fast-growing SPS coral and, unusually for the category, considered easy to keep, making it a solid entry point if you’re moving into SPS for the first time.

Given the right conditions, it will continue to encrust outward and cover more surface area fairly quickly compared to many other SPS corals.

Care basics

  • Lighting: Moderate.
  • Flow: Strong and random.
  • Water chemistry: Stable calcium, alkalinity and magnesium matter more than chasing exact numbers, as with other SPS corals.
  • Feeding: Not required — it gets most of its energy from light.
  • Placement: Peaceful, but will encrust and spread over time, so give it room to grow.
