Blue Macaw Mycedium Chalice Frag

Blue Macaw Mycedium Chalice carries a rich, deep blue textured body scattered with golden-tan growth points, each one standing out sharply against the surrounding blue like a scattering of small eyes. It’s a bold, high-contrast piece that leans on colour rather than pattern complexity, and it holds attention clearly even from a distance.

Mycedium chalices like this one tend to grow in a more plating, encrusting form rather than the mounded shape of some other chalice types, so expect it to spread outward as a flatter colony over time.

Care basics

  • Lighting: Low to moderate. Chalices can bleach under overly intense light, so this one does best lower in the tank.
  • Flow: Low to moderate, indirect. Strong direct flow can damage the tissue.
  • Water chemistry: Stable calcium, alkalinity and magnesium matter more than chasing exact numbers.
  • Feeding: Not required, but it will take fine coral foods if offered.
  • Placement: Give it space from neighbouring corals, as with other chalices.

Supplied as a frag on a 3cm frag plug.
