This AA grade Blastomussa Wellsi is a proper colony piece — five fleshy, ridged heads in a rich red-orange, with the largest carrying a vivid, almost neon green mouth that draws the eye immediately against the warmer surrounding tones. Wellsi is prized for exactly this kind of deeply textured, fleshy look, and a well-graded multi-head colony like this one is a genuine step up from a typical single-head frag.

Care basics

• Lighting: Low to moderate. Tolerates a wide range, and does well lower in the tank.
• Flow: Low. Gentle flow is best — heavy flow can damage the fleshy polyps.
• Water chemistry: Stable calcium, alkalinity and magnesium matter more than chasing exact numbers.
• Feeding: Not required, but it will take finer coral foods if offered.
• Placement: Peaceful, but give it space from more aggressive neighbours.
