Blue and Green Fungia Plate Coral

This Blue and Green Fungia Plate Coral shows green flesh with vivid blue tentacles extending outward from its round, disc-shaped base — a classic look for this genus, and a genuinely easy one to keep. Fungia are free-living corals, meaning they naturally sit unattached on the substrate rather than growing fixed to rock, and they can even shift position slightly over time as they settle into a spot they like.

This is a fully cultured frag, grown on rather than freshly cut.

Care basics

  • Lighting: Low to moderate. Fungia tolerate a wide range and don’t need intense lighting to thrive.
  • Flow: Low to moderate. Gentle flow is best.
  • Water chemistry: Stable calcium, alkalinity and magnesium matter more than chasing exact numbers.
  • Feeding: Not required, but it will happily take meaty foods if offered.
  • Placement: Peaceful and free-living — give it open sand or a flat, unobstructed spot rather than mounting it on rock.

Supplied as a fully cultured frag on a 3cm plug.
