Two-Tone Galaxea Crystal Corals
This Two Tone Galaxea shows a vivid, “toxic” green base with hints of yellow running through it, and fine tentacles tipped in cyan-blue that give the whole piece a genuinely sparkling, crystalline texture. This is a mature frag, grown on for 5 months rather than a fresh cut, at approximately 5cm.
Galaxea is one of the more aggressive corals in the reef-keeping hobby — its sweeper tentacles carry a genuinely strong sting, and it needs a clear buffer of at least 6 inches from any neighbouring coral to avoid damaging them. This isn’t a coral to place casually in a crowded tank; give it real, deliberate space from the start.
Care basics
- Lighting: Medium to high.
- Flow: Medium.
- Water chemistry: Stable calcium, alkalinity and magnesium matter more than chasing exact numbers.
- Feeding: Not required, but it will take finer coral foods if offered.
- Placement: Keep at least 6 inches clear from all neighbouring corals — Galaxea’s sweeper tentacles are unusually potent even by LPS standards.
Supplied as a mature frag (grown for 5 months), approx 5cm.
