Bigger, fleshier polyps than a normal zoa, and known for growing on quickly once settled. Like most named Zoa morphs, its exact colouring can shift depending on your tank’s lighting and water chemistry, so what you see in a photo is a good guide rather than a guarantee — it’s part of what makes this genus interesting to keep.
Care basics
- Lighting: Low to moderate. Zoa generally tolerate a wide range, and colour can intensify or shift as they acclimate to your setup.
- Flow: Moderate to high. Keeps detritus off the mat and supports healthy spread.
- Water chemistry: Stable calcium, alkalinity and magnesium matter more than chasing exact numbers.
- Feeding: Not required, but fine particulate feeding can help growth.
- Handling: Never handle out of water, always wear gloves, and take extra care not to touch your face or eyes when fragging or moving this one.
