Rasta Zoa Frag

Rasta is a long-standing favourite for good reason — each polyp runs through a genuine sequence of colour: a purple centre, a vivid orange ring, a green face, and a yellow-green skirt finishing it off. It’s one of the most layered, high-contrast zoas going, and holds its own as a focal point even in a busy zoa garden.

Like most zoas, it settles in and spreads steadily once happy, budding outward to build a colony over time.

Care basics

  • Lighting: Low to moderate. Tolerates a wide range, and colour generally holds up well.
  • Flow: Moderate to high. Keeps detritus off the polyps and supports healthy spread.
  • Water chemistry: Stable calcium, alkalinity and magnesium matter more than chasing exact numbers.
  • Feeding: Not required, but occasional fine-particle feeding can help growth and colour.
  • Handling: Contains palytoxin, as all zoanthids do. Never handle out of water, and wear gloves when fragging.
