Alien Eye Zoa Frag

Alien Eye earns its name honestly — a bright yellow centre and mouth sit against a pale blue face, with blue tentacles carrying a hint of yellow at the tips. The contrast gives each polyp a strange, almost otherworldly look that’s hard to miss in a mixed zoa garden.

It’s a fairly sought-after morph among collectors, and like most zoas will settle in and spread steadily once it’s happy in your tank.

Care basics

  • Lighting: Low to moderate. Tolerates a range of lighting, though colour is best preserved by avoiding very high intensity.
  • Flow: Moderate to high. Keeps detritus off the polyps and supports healthy growth.
  • Water chemistry: Stable calcium, alkalinity and magnesium matter more than chasing exact numbers.
  • Feeding: Not required, but occasional fine-particle feeding can help growth and colour.
  • Handling: Contains palytoxin, as all zoanthids do. Never handle out of water, and wear gloves when fragging.

Supplied as 2 zoas on a frag plug.
