Multicolour Ricordea Yuma Mushroom

This Ricordea Yuma carries a rich, glowing golden-orange body that fades outward into teal-green tips, with a small secondary green mouth visible near the edge — a sign this piece may be in the process of naturally dividing into two. It’s a dense, well-textured polyp with real presence under lighting.

Worth knowing: strong, direct laminar flow can cause a Ricordea to detach from the rockwork and drift around the tank. If that happens, simply net it and gently reattach it to a stable spot with lower, more indirect flow — it isn’t harmed by the process, but it’s easily avoided with the right placement from the start.

This is a WYSIWYG listing: you receive the exact single polyp pictured, approx 3+cm open, attached to a small rock, not a representative example.

Care basics

  • Lighting: Low to moderate. Ricordea can bleach out or lose vibrancy under overly intense light, so lower placement usually works best.
  • Flow: Low, indirect. Avoid direct laminar flow, which can dislodge the polyp from the rockwork.
  • Water chemistry: Stable calcium, alkalinity and magnesium matter more than chasing exact numbers.
  • Feeding: Not required, but target feeding small meaty foods can noticeably boost size and colour over time.
  • Placement: Peaceful and doesn’t need much space from neighbours, though it can slowly creep across rockwork over time.

Supplied as 1 polyp attached to a small rock, approx 3+cm open.
